London is a truly magical place at Christmas, with Christmas trees spread throughout the city and intricate light displays all over and above the buildings.
It’s enough to bring a little light and warmth to otherwise dreary skies above.

And knowing the lights will come out when the sun goes down provides more than enough inspiration to take advantage of the city all day and all night.
Exploring with the crowds through the River Thames down to the Tower Bridge,

And into the former residence of many famous and infamous prisoners.

Popping around Trafalgar Square, where the mist from the fountain chills your cheeks,

The lions beam with pride,

And King George IV stands on watchful guard.

All topped by a brilliant spruce, seemingly standing taller than the surrounding buildings.

Definitely the home of all things merry and bright!
As usual, great pictures. Had hoped to do a few days in London when I went to Wales, but it wasn’t in the cards this year.. Glad I got yo see your pictures. Some relatives also posted some pictures of high tea at the Ritz. Amazing!

What a coincidence – we were just looking at some of our pictures from tea at the Rtiz! It’s a city that does an amazing job with traditions!

I am afraid I am in the “Bah, humbug” amp as far as Xmas is concerned and although I live in London I would not dream of going “uptown” during December or January when the sales are on as it is my idea of Hell on Earth but I am glad you enjoyed it.
As always, you images are great and I particularly like the T. Square one with the refracted (is that the correct term?) sun, it is really clever.

The amount of people over the holidays in certain areas is a tad intimidating!! Such a great city it is understandable so many people want to be there! Thanks for reading.

Great photographs. London looks just amazing when the sun is shining. It’s bit too much for me going right into town these days and I do miss it. Your pics have brought back some lovely memories, thank you.
