High up on our list of to-dos in Washington was apple picking. With all the farmland in the area, there are plenty of places to buy freshly picked fruit, but the real fun is being able to pick it yourself.
We found Stutzman Ranch, a multi-fruit orchard that was picking apples, pears, peaches, grapes, and pluots. For the bargain price of a minimum $5 purchase per person, you can have a Gala of a good time!

Grab your bucket,

Head in,

And take a right at Orchard Avenue, where you’ll find rows upon rows of peaches and pluots.

Wander up and down, finding your favorites to take home.

Next up is the grapes…
Picked (and eaten) straight from the vines, of course.

Grapes so good they taste exactly like the best grape juice you’ve ever had.
Then head over to the pears – perfectly crisp and not too sweet. A delight to the palette.

Of course, at some point you have to get to the main event. You are in Wenatchee, Washington, after all – the Apple Capital of the world (at least according to Wenatchee).
It’s time to put all the fun aside, and get down to some serious business.

Just kidding…the fun continues!

After you’ve made the rounds, drop off your finds and bop around the rest of the farm.
Which just so happens to include all the perfectly picture-worthy touches.

Just don’t get too close to the watermelons. They’re closely guarded by Ranger, who has nailed the ultimate trick of luring you into a false sense of security by pretending to sleep.

When you’re done with your picking fun, pack up your produce. There are crumbles and pies in your future!

If you’re ever in Wenatchee, a trip to a u-pick orchard is a must. It’s an apple-solute blast!
That last box of goodies looks amazing.

That is definitely some very fine looking produce and I think half the fun is picking it yourself. The growers must love it, think of the savings on wage bills!

We certainly picked more than we could eat in one sitting! We took some back on the airplane!
